Did I Ever Tell You?
by
Patricia Blake

Did I ever tell you
when you were a little boy?
I treasured the fun we had,
I would sing to you with joy.
But you'd say, "Mommy, don't sing!"
And it would make me laugh
What memories this brings...
We traveled quite a path.

Did I ever tell you
when you were a little boy?
I treasured the times we got to play.
Me and my little boy.
You were such fun you see,
We'd play and swing
And all those things...
Together, forever you and me.

Did I ever tell you
when you were a little boy?
I loved that I got to learn about
Super heroes and turtles, what joy!
Because of you I got to make
Things like...masks and capes
Sometimes it was more than I could take!
But oh so fun...
For me and my littlest one.

How did we know that you and me
could be so close, my dear?
And someday when you have a little one
I hope these memories bring me near!
Remember the times we had
Remember all the fun.
In your thoughts it will be clear,
That I thank God you are my son!

Love, Mom
